NEW SERIES ADDED BY POPULAR DEMAND!

The public is invited to explore the ancient practice of tai chi in a 6-class series on the Terrace overlooking Elm Street (or inside if weather doesn't cooperate) at the downtown branch of The New Haven Public Library.  Instruction is designed for adults at a beginners level.

Participants will learn a ten form set of Yang style tai chi derived from the Yang style 24 form. The 24 form is the most widely practiced form in the world, typically what persons in China and Japan practice in the parks and sidewalks in front of their apartments each day. Participants can expect to have the sequence of movements memorized well enough by the end of the series that they can practice this short set on their own.

Instruction is provided by Kathleen Brenner, who has studied tai chi for 20 years and has won several gold, silver and bronze medals in international tai Chi competitions. Brenner has taught tai chi and Chi Kung to several hundred people of all ages over the last ten years.

Space is limited! Registration is required. A $10 donation is requested from participants to cover costs of the series, payable at first class.
